Hi. Summer's here, in KCMO, & I reckon it has come in most other local geographic hollers. I have not forgotten the drifts of Kansas City's winter streets. So, this kind of feels good still. My tolerance of low-level baking may have something to do with the fact that this is the first summer in perhaps a decade, that I have chosen to wear shorts.

Stuff going on here soon is thus: Westport Farmer's Market this Weds. We are going to serve some cold press coffee, as well as some whole-bean bags. Ric Rac Roundup is coming up in less than 2 weeks. More of the same hotness & refreshing iced coffeeness.

In addition, if you make it out to the Ric Rac, and are looking for something to experience in the evening, I have to urge you to check out Jeremy Collins' film, The Wolf & the Medallion, showing @ the Nelson. Check the trailer out and/or order tickets here

There's more to be said later. The shop is open, and it's been great to meet many of you fine folks who are seeking an over the cup coffee experience. Signs are going up soon, we have some form of signs installing themselves tomorrow. Expand on the basis of your success... cheers.

Happy Monday to you. We had a good one on this end. Brother Mike helped out around the shop today, and cranked out some coffee. He even did dishes after cursing at me & gesticulating with various hand & finger positions. Thanks Mike.

This week we will be featuring three coffees, one from Sulawesi, one from Huila, Colombia & one from Sumatra. Funky & pungent sweetness for two of them, clean and crisp on the other. They will be available in 12oz bags for home ingestion, or available by the cup in a variety of means @ the shop on Main St. We'll be there from 7-1.

What else? We are making plans, and getting ready for products to carry in house. It will be a leisurely process, but we know you will like it. Maybe we will get a sign on the building soon too. Naw, that's crazy talk...

Things are coming together

So, we have some high-dollar signage happening, that is sure to catch the eye of... passing lumberjacks. You know they cannot resist a good looking stump.

We are having a good time having the doors open on Main St. We enjoy being able to craft the means to communicate what we do & why we do it as we craft cups of coffee for you. Images should reflect that notion.

We are going to be pouring some coffee next week, Wednesday the 29th @ Fidel's Cigar Shop on Pennsylvania in Westport. 5-10, there will be music, food, live-cigar rolling, & other shenanigans(I do not use that word lightly). The link is here. Should be interesting...

Also happening soon, is our participation in the Westport Farmer's Market on Wednesdays. We will be serving some toddy, and whole-bean coffee.

We love getting to be part of it, and love what Betsy & Emily bring to the neighborhood. Wow, it's been a busy little while. Where to begin? Dunno.

Well, we are officially open, for starters!! I hear applause somewhere in my skull. The many voices convene to celebrate coffee in my cranium.

The former semi-delusional comment leads me to our current celebration(& reason for semi-delusional language). 3 days after the shop opens, my wife gave birth to a young man named, Oscar! All are well. She is amazing. We are a bit sleep-deprived, she more than I of course. But, we(the other three in our house) are joyful, and excited to show him around the country.

Back to the shop; it's bare-bones, kept simple. One can find whole-bean coffee for sale there, clad with in-house letterpressed packaging. One can find a man behind a counter, excited to pour you a cup of coffee - 12 oz cups to go. We are brewing with chemex & pourover cone methods currently. One will find this @ 3934 Main St. KCMO. Parking is Midtown style street side, or behind the building off Westport Rd. Bikes welcome. Bike rack coming soon. For now, wheel it in, or hitch it to the sturdy light post in front of the shop. Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Many changes and augmentations are coming, but for now, we are very happy to be gritty people, peddling delicious coffees out of a tall and gritty space. We would not have it any other way. Maybe we would have a sign that says what we are, but, meh - all things in time...

Hey friends,

I would not be a friend if I did not remind you of one of the finest events of the year in KCMO. Tomorrow night, the 26th of May, New Belgium is bringing their traveling film festival to town.

Last year, the weather was perfect, the vibe was great, & the beer was tasty. It's a fun time of being part of a swath of like-minded folks out there to celebrate beer culture, and to share the potential exotic of everyday life. Click here for some of last years examples of cultural goodness.

New Belgium is a huge influence on us in terms of company culture. We love the way they think.

A month goes by...

Greetings Friends,

How's it going? We are having a good time this Spring. Our lives outside of coffee have been wild. Me personally? My wife, Sarah, is going to be giving birth to another coffee baby in late June. We moved into an amazing old house on Virginia Ave., in the Squier Park neighborhood of KCMO. It's been busy, and we are always trying to peel back our eyelids to stay present in lives that seem to be cruising by at blinding speeds.

On the coffee front, we have some exciting coffees in house. We have 2 different lots of Burundi. Both have citrus & earth tones, but both have different cup characteristics. We just got a microlot in from Huila, Colombia -wild & sweet flavors happening in there. Look for those to be on our shelf & in your cup when we open here shortly.

Also, our countertops are in!! Our talented friend, Danny, came through with an absolutely beautiful specimen of wood color, texture & construction. Thanks Danny.

Things are happening around the Oddly Correct coffee roasting shack. Briscoe Panels are up, as the photos depict. I am really happy with them. I look forward to spending some more time diving in to the curious matter that inhabits the oh-so-classy plywood and paint.

We have been enjoying the weather shift, as I am certain the rest of you have as well. Euphoric feelings of wind on the face that do not threaten the longevity of one's features on one's face are one of the little benefits of this weather.

We scored a sweet drying rack for our printed 12 oz coffee bags. It is a salvaged bed spring from a crib that had out-lived its frame's stability. Works for us, thanks, Lee.

I have also enjoyed the sensation of pushing a load of coffee in shopping cart recently. It's not so high on the list as finding an arrowhead, or seeing a live armadillo up close in nature(both of which happened recently), but it's still satisfying.

Other than that, stay tuned. Burundi coffee coming soon for real.

Hello. Happy Spring.

I was talking to a woman a couple of days ago, telling of what we have going on with the shop, etc. She remarked something along the lines of, "you mean the shop that was going to be open in November?" - I said, "Uh, yeah, that one..." It was actually motivating to get a jab from someone I know not. She's right.

So, the now proverbial three week mark has been set. I am calling some numbers on Monday, that should put things in to motion. Some features will be installed this week to make the retail space feel more retail-y, and our lovely bar top-in-progress is, well, in progress. The artist who is crafting it believes our timing can connect.

On the home-delivery front, we will be sending out a Fair Trade Organic Papua New Guinea. It's got some passion fruitish tones, followed by a mild Indonesian must. I am a fan. So, if you are into that sort of thing, and you live, let's say, between the River Market and Brookside, I will be happy to rest upon your doorstep a hand-crafted bag of coffee. Click hither.

This week, we will be installing a couple panels from the always fine, Brandon Briscoe. He agreed to create a piece or two bring some life to a dark place in the shop. I am imagining it will tie the room together similar to the Dude's rug. Let's hope the fate of the painting is not parallel.

So, apparently it's still winter, despite the fine, fine weather last week. I think it may be considered a blizzard outside. Why not get up and head out in it to get some bouldering in with friends @ threehouse.

Things are moving along at the shop on Main St. We have been getting stuff in order with the officials, and so on.

There's a new coffee shop in town. Mud Pie Vegan Bakery & Coffeehouse opened this past week. We are excited to be roasting coffee for them. They went with an espresso that suited their tastes, as well as rotating drip coffees. I had a cashew milk latte today. The milk is crafted there, which is a beautiful thing. It's great to see passion coming from behind there bar, in what is such a great space & staple of 39th St. I recommend the chocolate bundt cake for breakfast.

It's been a time also, when printing has been able to be loosened up a little bit. Excited we are to take on some more mind-stretching projects.

Things are going well with the shop on Main St. City processes
are going smooth, and shall hopefully be symbiotic in the end. I am hesitant to say when I think we'll be open, but I believe it will be soon. Sunlight has been flooding the shop in the mornings. Can't wait to share it.

Rudy, my bike doctor, hooked me up with some cyclocross tires this week, and I am now snow-able. I made a bike & trailer delivery of 60 lbs without pain or injury. It felt great to be mobile again.

As for coffees, we have a beautiful Papua New Guinea in house, Honeyopia is back, and a Burundi will be in house next week. New print elements are in the works as well. yeehaw.

Alright, it's the semi-dead o winter. We've had two 50 degree days, and the snow is on it's way out until another batch comes in a couple days. Just as well, we say, yeah? It's winter & it's good.

Red tape abounds with our process of opening on Main St. That's fine, of course, but it has caused me to orient my thinking a little differently. We are bringing in some exciting coffees, and we are having fun tasting them, and pairing them with various grub & spices. Since it's cabin fever season, we might as well woodshed.

We've had some fun cuppings over the past few weeks. Thanks for coming out and spitting out our coffee.

More work is being done on getting out some new coffee bag prints, as well as some posters that pimp what's going on in our heads - for better or for worse~

eating snow

So, the first real snow has hit Kansas City for 2011. Monday morning arrived, and I was excited to ride on some fresh snow and get to roasting some orders today.

Riding in was great-almost euphoric. Not many folks had made tracks yet. Still riding on slicks, I was able to navigate some fresh snow with a few fishtails.

Riding back was a slightly different story. I have been riding this season so far without a fall, as one rides the luck in the empty gas tank as much the fumes. With 4 hours of traffic & some ice on the roads, I indeed, metaphorically, ate some snow-covered pavement.

A smile was on my face the whole time, and the snow was delicious. The time has come for an upgrade. The good bike-doctor, Rudy, will be trading some work on bike upgrades for coffee love. Thanks Dr. Rudy.

Hey everyone, Happy New Year. Feels good to be living in a new number. Mild temperatures are making for some nice cruising. We are still working on the shop. It's got a little more to go before we are officially open, but it's closer than its ever been. We even have a fancy, light-up exit sign above the door(thanks Randy).

This winter season has proved fruitful in providing some confidence & sanity from reassuring books: REWORK & Brewing Up a Business (thanks Kevin). Daily reminders are housed in these books to buck the gears of the status quo that threaten to grind us down to less than we desire to be. Such gears can be good things or bad(depending on where you're coming from), like industry norms, cultural expectations or a healthy dose of fear of the unknown & the pendulum swing from it. Both of the books mentioned above have been amazing in terms of calling out fear & bullsh*t in the pursuit of something more in life, art & business. Who are you(who are your customers)? What are you hard-wired to be doing(how can you do it better)? & What steps are you taking to get there today? These are a few of the questions we consider daily.

It's raining tonight, and it's kinda lovely. With wet pants I leave the bike @ the door, and prepare to work on some Rue Royale CD artwork. It will be done by this weekend. The album will be out shortly. They will be back in KC in May.

We obtained a bike carrier/trailer from some good friends recently. Our daughter digs it, but I hear more cackling from the coffee I have been carting around. I guess they don't get to see much of the environment they arrive in. From the farm to the bag to the ship to the warehouse to the truck to the roaster to the cup to your gullet to the sewer they go. They now enjoy jaunts through Midtown as an added step in the process.

New Costa Rican micro-milled coffee coming for tomorrow's home delivery. San Marcos farm from Tarrazu. It's a citrusy-sweet, bodylicious cup for your pleasure. There's still time to get it on it here.

This week, the featured coffee is a luscious & fruity dry(natural) process Ethiopian Jimma. We bought very little of it, and it's most definitely coffee worthy of you coffee freaks.

Last week, the KC marathon cruised by the shop. I was not able to accommodate onlookers caffeine needs that day. I fear for the Seinfeld effect of watching a foot race with hot coffee in hand. Maybe next year we will be ready. All the runners can sign a waiver.

Anyhow, the progress is visible @ the shop now. We are picking up a couple sinks today that will allow us to be inspection-ready very soon.

With no wifi @ the shop yet, broadcasting has proved challenging. Here's a fast update.

The roaster is in & production is rolling. Tim Burton inspired smokestack & cooling in effect.

The whole space is designed to be modular, as we are printing, roasting, tasting, brewing & making music in there. We have rolling dividers, & the bar will be modular as well, functioning as a whole bean counter, cupping table & a surface to sit on when the need permits.

We are very happy to be @ 3934 Main, and look forward to opening our doors officially in early December. That's the plan.

One last push of heavy lifting

We extracted the Joper roaster & the little guy from the Threehouse studio location last night. This time, we did not have to haul it up the stairs, but it was pouring rain. I don't like to make anything too easy. In climbing, Sarah & I would always say, anything that is harder than it needs to be gets chalked up to training. So, training it was...

We loaded the gear in to a trailer & headed on to Midtown. I wisely rode in the back with the equipment to see it through a tough transition. Coffee roasters are sensitive. (see ultrasound photo) I stared @ the increasingly humanoid face of the roaster as streetlights brightened and faded, and every bump sounded like the bottom of the trailer was going to give way. I have this picture in my head of myself careening away, clutching on to the roaster with a stream of sparks arching behind us.

It didn't happen. The roaster is now in-house. Stack is almost up. Should be operational within 24 hours. Yahoo.

A call came through late Sunday morning. Ben Jones, an engraving & print zealot, breathed excitedly into the phone, "got a Chandler & Price for you if you want it-just have to pick it up." "Uhhh, okay." I reply.

Three hours later, Ben introduced to the head of the KC Ink & Paper society, Calvert Guthrie. He was providing the trailer & outfitted us with all kinds of pry bars, leather hammers, beams & straps. As he rifled through drawers & boxes, tossing us random objects("might as well take that - might need it."), he reminded me of a mix between Hunter Thompson & a vampire hunter. We didn't know what half the tools did, but we suspected we would understand when the time was right. Oh, and yes, it was going to get ugly.

The deal entailed removing an old-style Chandler & Price platen press from someone's house in the Westside. We learned that the original owner of the press was the sole printer for the latino community in the mid-century. His son took it over, and now he was ready for the heavy heavy beast to be out of his house. Simple enough, right?

We called a few friends, and snagged a few to help us lift something heavy and be enjoying a cold beverage by the time the sun went down. We measured the door:27 inches. We measure the press:way wider than 27 inches... What we though would be a simple, yet ridiculous job, turned into a slightly more complicated, ridiculous job. That said, the friends we recruited were smart, & found reasons to go & be free elsewhere.

Crammed into this little basement, complete with bucket to catch water a leak, & a pretty sweet virgin Mary sculpture, was this beast of a press. We began to embrace the greasy metal, sweating and grunting. Ben's zeal is the reason this is going down. The prospect of taking the press apart, down to it's essential frame lit up his eyes in the name of science. I was there to help and use whatever brute force was necessary to get the job done.

Long story short, we got the press out one door, down two steps, across a room, up four steps into a trailer, and into our new shop in less than twelve hours over two days. Using the might of Ben, myself & the beast, Mark Beard(as well as some ancient Egyptian technology), the press is ready for a severe cleaning, which will reveal some lovely pinstriping on clean iron.

Now begins the meticulous process of assembling the machine, back to its former glory. We have named the press Gabriel, for that was the name of the original owner/operator. We will love, cherish, use & protect it.

We are very excited to get things rolling in our new space on Main St. in KCMO. It's going to be a couple weeks of demolition & minor construction before it's functional. 4 blocks from home, I can once again walk to work before my coffee is drinking temperature.

Time Capsule: The day arrived

The day the new-to-us roaster arrived, was a head-scratching day. The main question on my mind was, how am I going to get this 300 pound piece of steel down 9-10 steps? At the same time, how was I to keep it & myself in working order after the job was done?

Enter friend, & think-tank, Randy. He brings a stout perseverance to any table he approaches. I knew he would be interested in helping solve this problem.

At this point, the roaster is in a crate (about the size of a couple refrigerators)outside the shop. It's perhaps 38 degrees, & sunny. At my disposal, I have a fantastic oversized scraper a friend made for me in N.C. It was designed to scrape the underside of a two bag coffee roaster cooling tray. It's a fine piece of steel. It has been used as a pull up bar, an ice breaker, & potential self-defense weapon. Now it was being used as a pry-bar, and a lever to inch the half-crated roaster towards the shop door.

Randy arrives, we take a coffee break.

Break over, we head back outside & deliberate the preferred methods of overcoming this obstacle. Half-hearted attempts at mumbling brilliant solutions exit our lips, and dissipate weakly into little plumes of steam.

Enter friend #2: Wes. Phone call:"hey man, I was wondering if you were roasting today, and I could swing by and pick up a bag of coffee?" Me:"um, yep. C'mon by..." My response upturned not so casually at the last second with the optimism of a guy who truly almost believes this substantial task will "just take a second."

Accelerating the story now, Wes arrives, we all deliberate, and start moving the mother towards the doorway. Maybe we lugged it up a step onto the landing, when the idea that had been brewing, slowly dawned on me. One must draw upon what one has to work with when one is in a position of challenge, no?

Being a climber has aided me in a number of applications, as it helped me this day. I grabbed my harness, tied in, and tossed the rope over one of the supports of the warehouse. After tying the rope to the roaster, the fine citizen, Andy Michael stood near to grab on and hang off of me as I dangle. Wes & Randy lifted as I hoisted & Andy hung.

As you can see by the picture, the roaster and I made it in one piece. The other fellas survived as well. "Welcome to the coffee industry," I said, as another of the many foolish things done in the name of coffee roasting was finished.

We are moving the roaster again in a week. However, we will utilize the roll up door this time.

Saturday was a good time. It was hot, it was breezy, & many folks came out to forage on the goodness that was there. We enjoyed meeting lots of new people, and a few who came back for more from last year.

Right @ 4 p.m., the storm came and threatened to blow us away. I think everyone got soaked in the effort to protect any goods the rain might pain. It's been a long time since I have been that wet from a warm summer rain. I definitely took a few minutes to stand and take it in.

Also, Friday night, we went out to check out the I-70 latte art competition @ the Roasterie. Thanks to them for hosting the event. It was fun to have the greater Kansas City baristas & roasters in attendance. We met some new folks & enjoyed connecting once again with some current ones. We are hopeful for the the progressing state of the coffee community here in K.C.

we're back & inspired

Yep, we're back. Colorado was amazing. We were blown away by all we expected to be - creation, culture, people, altitude & positive attitudes. It's inspiring to see people going for it. Going for what? Pursuing passions & augmenting local community is the 'it' that fuels our fire.

I will expound on that thought process in the near future. This week, we are preparing, gearing for the Ric Rac Roundup in Westport KCMO this weekend. It's a collective bizarre bazaar of local artists and craftspeople. Last year was great, and we are honored to be back again.

We will be selling whole bean, fresh roasted coffees in printed and illustrated bags, as well as fresh & chilly toddy. We are experimenting on what coffee to serve, and I am leaning towards a washed Ethiopian Sidamo. It's complex, with a soft,warm-canned peach flavor, with big cocoa tones. What better to drink on a hot midwestern plains day? Beer? Touche.

It's been a while since we have last posted(thanks for the nudge, Brian!). If you check this blog regularly, this is no surprise. Organization and consistency not strong points for me (switching from we to me to lay the proper rebuke). That said, it is time to update.

Oddly Correct is ever changing, it seems, in location & roasting situations. We are currently @ threehouse, with Jer Collins (check this film out) and the Howdeshells duo(trio). It's been great, however, we are moving on to a new space with wholesale back room for roasting & printing, and a retail front, so coffee freaks can find us easier. More to come on that in August & September.

Over the past couple of years, much inspiration has been absorbed in terms of how life can be lived more fully in relation to the place we live, the communities we are part of, and the work we do for income(oh, and that which we are passionate - the two can be one!). I will write in more detail on this. One of the main points of inspiration occured @ New Belgium Brewery in Fort Collins, CO.

My friend, Ryan, & his family were moving to Portland, OR. I was asked to accompany him on the journey west, in a Uhaul trailing a Volvo, for 5 days with a dog and no timeline. I accepted the offer. I was expecting to be inspired, because - hey, it's the west! However, I did not expect to be blown away as much as I was by the culture that surrounds New Belgium, in terms of a lifestyle of work & family & play.

Sarah, my wife, & I are headed out west for some inspiration, rest and much needed climbing time together. We will be hitting up Boulder, CO, first, and then up to Fort Collins to catch the brewery tour, and then we nestle ourselves here(click & enjoy).

Spring is here, and it's time to get physical again. We have been monkeying around all winter climbing and hanging on things. It's time for some cardio, now that a 3 season biker can endure the weather. Friday home delivery for Midtown-ish KC folks is in effect. Winter presses on in KCMO. Our new shop has heat, so it's not so bad. Our roasting and printing space share real estate and oxygen with some other folks. There's been some adjusting for all of us. Being the weirdos we are, we are getting used to other human beings being in close proximity to us. The other humans are getting used to our noise and smells, and the smoke that accompanies really any issue that occurs with coffee roasting equipment. When something goes awry, depending on the stage of roast, stopping the smoke is like stopping effects of gravity. Computers and paper don't send you home smelling like the same. Coffee roasting, however, even on its best days-blesses all with the pleasant funk of second hand sugar caramelizing and hydro carbon production.

We have also laid to rest our second nikon point and shoot camera. Now, a verizon phone camera is the means of communicating to the world, the visual fantastickery that surrounds us on a daily basis. As we save for an upgrade, we will make the most of what we have.

Cupping with the Filling Station

Some of the crew of the Filling Station came by today for a groundwork-laying cupping. everyone got dialed in deeper to the various general character of the various growing regions on the table. We will explore variety in preps shortly, and get as freaky as they are willing to get with wherever their collective coffee desires take them.

I love seeing people hovering together over coffees, spouting ideas & perceptions simultaneously. Learning to slurp & spit is a great way to bring a team nearer to each other. Now, I shall relish lugging the milk can serving as a spittoon and chaff collector to the garden for composting.

It's been a while since our last post. Much has happened. We have moved to a location in the Westside/Crossroads district of KCMO. Oddly Correct has joined spaces with Threehouse Media, which is an illustration/animation studio headed up by Jeremy Collins.

Our plans include, gallery space, cupping bar, full scale creative freak outs & a climbing wall in house.

In session now is our Orange Treble espresso blend. It's bright & tight with a citrusy finish. With milk or soy it brings out cocoa tones. We're pretty excited about it.

Local Roasters Unite

Station Coffee in KCMO @ Westport Rd. & Southwest Trafficway is officially open and cranking. Naked portafilters, french press coffees & and maybe 3 bottles of syrup are in the entire establishment(NO WHIPPED CREAM!!! - so sorry...).

They are doing it right and are raising the bar for quality coffee in Kansas City proper. Local coffee roasters and bakers are featured there to keep the product fresh, and the competition friendly.

As we are aware, coffee shops should be places for the local community to unite. Here, it's local customers and local suppliers who weave through the rustic-modern interior, or wrap around the building for the drive thru. There's enough love to go around.

Inside the space there's a great vibe, and great people pulling shots. We are proud to be one of the featured local roasters there. Check out what's happening there if you happen through Kansas City. Try a shot of espresso, or some coffee black. It may change your life...

That's what a friend of mine described me as, when I told him of my ideas for fancy ticklin' with mail order add ons. You know, a sticker here, a little print there... Who doesn't like a little something extra? Like a Patagonia catalog, you get sweet investment clothing and inspiring photos of people living exotically where ever they are.

That's what we try to do. Walk past burger kings, eat bananas while spilling coffee while the sun rises on your way to work, and you have to wear a sweatshirt in Kansas City on June 3rd. Anyhow, live like you mean it in whatever you are doing. I guess that's an obvious sentiment, but I have to keep reminding myself.

So, that's what this little image is, a testament to the gramma in all of us.

The space is coming along. Some sweat, cleaning efforts and a lot of roasting has characterized the past couple months. Oh, and joy - let me not forget to record that quality.

Until we commit to build out the whole space, we are laying down some rugs over the well worn and stained tile floor. We are about 8 rugs and 8 curtains from being finished.

As for the coffee, the season is changing, and bringing with it some great stuff. I cupped an FTO Guatemala last week that tasted as if it was an African. So, we will definitely be getting some of that. As well as some tangy Tanzanian, we will be getting a beautiful auction lot of Kenya AA.

Today, we are getting the keys for our new spot here in midtown KC. It's about 3 blocks from our home, and therefore, my coffee still may be too hot to drink by the time I get to the shop.

It's a century old, renovated (in the 50's) space. It's going to take a lot of work to get it beautiful to other beholder's eyes, but to us-it's lovely.

Sumatra Harimau Tiger

Just got a nice Sumatra up on the site. Working in a bit of a wilderness for a couple years, I missed the amazing-ness that can and should be a Sumatran profile. This is a good break in to what this coffee can be.

It's fruity & funky, with a near floral finish. It's roasted to almost 2nd crack, (making me mourn now for all the years I torched this origin in past jobs) leaving all the goodness intact and in your cup.

Kitchen Letterpress

The short story of how this C&P Pilot got in my kitchen is the stuff dreams are made out of. I was searching for this very model in KC, and found one for 3 or 4 grand. I can't remember which price it was, but they were both out of my price range. 2 days after I declined dropping that kind of cash, my father calls me from a basement of an antique store in Moline, IL. Same press I was looking for with 3 boxes of incredibly useful stuff for about $120. Sold.

So now this press is in our kitchen, and soon to be put to use in the shop. Said boxes of useful stuff include tons of spacers, furniture and blocks with vikings, stars, cans of apricots and more. Yahoo.

Great find, Dad. Thanks for your zeal. This might be a good racket for you.
